Being the product subject to slow decantation, it is advisable to mix thoroughly BLUESIL RTV 3223 before use.
1. Mixing of the two components
To 100 parts of BLUESIL RTV 3223 add 5 parts by weight of CATA The two components should be mixed by hand or with a mechanical mixer. Mix until perfect dispersion of the catalyst into the silicone.

2. Degassing
After mixing BLUESIL RTV 3223 and CATA 2H it is recommended to degas the product to eliminate the entrapped air introduced in the mixture.
The catalysed product is degassed under a 30 to 50 mbar vacuum. When the vacuum is applied the product expands 3-4 times its initial volume and bubbles form on the surface. Once bubbles disappear, the mixture collapses back to its initial volume. To complete degassing simply wait few minutes before releasing the vacuum, then the product will then be ready to use.
Remark: pull and release the vacuum several times improves the degassing. For easier degassing only fill a recipient only to 1/3 of its height.
Pour the degassed mixed material slowly in a steady stream from one edge of the mould box so that the material flows evenly over the model minimizing the entrapment of air bubbles under the flowing silicone.

3. Cross linking
The best curing conditions are at 23°C and 50% relative humidity. The use of the products at higher temperatures and/or relative humidity levels will reduce the pot life and the setting time, while lower temperatures and lower relative humidity levels will increase both. It is recommended not to process the product at temperatures below 20°C nor higher than 50°C under these conditions, the final product performance levels will be difficult to achieve.
At 23°C and 50% relative humidity and using CATA 2H the moulds can be demoulded after 1 hour, independent of the mould thickness, but the mould will achieve its definitive properties after 4 days.

4. How to use
Apply BLUESIL RTV 3223 mixed with CATA 2H directly on the model by casting, trying to avoid bubbles and voids.
Models can be made of several materials, stones, concrete, metal, etc. Even though silicone is naturally no-adhering to most materials is always recommendable to prepare the model to avoid any risk of the silicone sticking and so damaging the model. Remove dust and apply a pore filler like soapy water, waxes diluted in xylene etc.
