BLUESIL FLD 1669
BLUESIL FLD 1669 is a-carboxy functionalised Polydimethylsiloxane fluid.
- Low surface tension.
- Water repellency.
- Excellent weatherability.
- Forms complexes with transition metal salts.
- Capable of forming hydrogen bonds.
- Excellent anchorage to polar surfaces.
- Imparts water repellency to polar surfaces.
BLUESIL FLD 1669 has been developed to impart permanent water repellency to chrome tanned leather.
It may also be used in other domains where a permanent hydrophobic treatment is required, such as the water-repellency of polar surfaces.
When used as a pigment or filler treatment it increases their compatibility with organic polymers.
BLUESIL FLD 1669 may also be used as a polymer chain modifier.
It can be used as a diacid component in polycondensation reactions.
Thus the silicone function may be introduced into a large number of organic polymers (PA, PES, polyester resins, PET...).
BLUESIL FLD 1669 imparts typical silicone properties to polyesters and polyamides such as:
- Non-stick properties
- Abrasion resistance
- Scratch resistance
- Internally : makes extrusion easier
- Externally: lubricates fibres…
- Water repellency
- Water vapour permeability
- Low temperature flexibility
- Impact modifier
- High temperature stability
- Electrical insulation
