Bluestar Silicones

The biennial congress is organised by the Fraunhofer Foundation Chemical Technology Institute of Karlsruhe. Airbag 2008 brings together all the automobile safety system players and specialists in passive (belt restraint, airbags…) and active safety (pre-emptive braking, night vision …). Today, "Airbag 2008" is the only symposium in Europe that covers the inflatable safety cushion (or "airbag").

Bluestar Silicones was distinguished for its technical presentation made by the Responsible for the Coating Technology within the Company, Pierre Defaux, who explained the new technologies developed by the company. As a result of a decade of in-depth research in this area and its experts working with assiduity alongside its customers, Bluestar Silicones now supplies silicones for all airbag parts.
Pierre Defaux presented the new assembly and bonding systems to "Airbag 2008", describing how silicone offers an additional strengthening, sealing and uniformity function for these new systems. The Lyon-based company offers a silicone-based solution for lighter, smaller and less expensive airbags.

Bluestar Silicones presented both its technologies and also demonstrated the depth of its knowledge of its customers’ technologies and problem areas.

Bluestar Silicones thanks the Airbag 2008 Jury for its choice that comes as its reward for a decade of airbag coating expertise and is flattered to see that its contribution to car safety has been recognised by experts in the field. It invites its customers to attend its forthcoming technical conference on the subject in April 2009.
