Lubricants
Silicones soften and smooth lotions and creams so that they can be applied without leaving a greasy residue, and form a seal that protects wounds during the healing process. In topical drug delivery formulations, silicones improve spreading and provide non-greasy, silky applications, making the medicine easier and more pleasant to use. Silicone enhanced lubricants ease the insertion of needles and devices.
Silicones fluids are also used as condom lubricants. Bluestar’s Silbione® fluids range is available in both standard and GMP grades.

Bluestar Silicones offers a specific range of high quality SILBIONE® LSR and SILBIONE® HCR products to provide high clarity and tear strength needed for safer baby bottle nipples and pacifiers.
The elastomers obtained by curing and posturing SILBIONE® rubber for four hours at 200°C only contains substances authorised by the regulations of France, Italy, Germany and USA. SILBIONE® rubber’s high level of transparency is achieved through the use of products with a very high level of purity enabling excellent observation of conveyed liquids.

Tubing
Medical professionals use tubing in intravenous drug delivery systems, laboratory research and heart pacemakers. Silicone tubing in some medical devices helps reduce the risk of infection, since silicone does not host bacteria and is easily sterilized.
